Working with UK universities

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission plays an important role in attracting the best and brightest talent to UK universities. In return, UK universities have always been keen to support and become involved in the CSC's activities, through the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship scheme, hosting Commonwealth Academic Fellows, partnering with overseas institutions to offer Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships and Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships, and most recently jointly funding Commonwealth Scholarships for candidates from developed Commonwealth countries.

2010 sees the start of a new relationship between the CSC and the UK higher education sector. Virtually all UK universities have agreed to provide joint scholarships, worth at least 20% of the tuition fee, to Commonwealth Scholars from developing countries. This extra revenue will enable the CSC to fund extra scholarships, primarily devoted to junior academic staff in developing country universities, whose studies in the UK will help develop capacity in their home institutions.

The list of participating universities is below – the CSC wishes to thank all the universities taking part.
