Split-Site doctoral Scholarships support attendance for one year at a UK university, under the joint supervision of a home country and UK supervisor.

Amongst the key features of the awards are the following:

• Applicants should be registered for a doctoral degree at their home university. The final qualification obtained will be from the home university, rather than the UK institution.
  

• The twelve months in the United Kingdom can be taken at any stage in the doctoral study (providing this is justified in the study plan), and can be divided into two or more periods.
  

• The scholarship covers full tuition fees for one year at the UK host university, stipend for up to one year in the UK, return air fare and other allowances. The award does not support the period of study at the home country university.
  

• Applications are accepted directly from certain developing country universities and from nominating agencies. The application forms and prospectuses can be found on those relevant developing country or nominating agency pages.
