Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Scholarships
As part of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship plan, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago invites up to two nominations for postgraduate level study in Trinidad and Tobago tenable at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens of the United Kingdom
- Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least Lower Second Class Honours from a recognized University
- These scholarships are available for study in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture, Social Sciences, Engineering, Humanities and Education, Institute of International Relations and the Institute of Business. Please note that scholarships are not granted in the field of Medicine
- While there is no age limit, preference will be given to candidates who have graduated with a first degree or Master’s degree after August 1998.

Scholarship details
Applicants should submit one original, complete application and five copies, together with five copies of the referees’ reports and five copies of the academic record. The latter should list the subjects passed and the grades of pass in each subject. Candidates should also submit one copy of a certified birth certificate. These documents should be sent to:

New Zealand
New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships
As part of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship plan, the New Zealand Vice-Chancellors’ Committee invites up to twelve nominations for postgraduate level study in New Zealand. These awards are funded wholly by the New Zealand University accepting the student. Please see the below link for details of current allowances offered by each participating institution:
Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens of the United Kingdom
- Applicants for PhD study must have a minimum standard of upper second class honours
- Applicants for other courses must have a minimum standard of a bachelor’s degree with at least an average of ‘B’, or they should be expected to achieve these results in the coming examinations
Candidates should ensure they have thoroughly researched their preferred NZ institutions and, if intending to undertake doctoral study, make initial enquiries with potential supervisors. It would also help if they were to provide evidence of an offer of a place at a New Zealand university.
